We cannot discern the passing of time by itself, but by the vestiges of what once was, and in this sense, architecture can become a vessel of time. We can envision time as a layer that's present in the spaces that we live in, only revealed to us, either in the form of tradition and its paraphernalia or by the physical marks present in the architecture. It is only through this layer that we can identify pieces of ourselves within the spaces we inhabit. It’s through this layer that we can encounter the meaning of home within architecture.
This is an image about tradition and how we can recognize ourselves through architecture.
